According to prison records and reports, Obama's former quarterback Jay Barker was jailed in Nashville after being arrested in Tennessee on charges of attempting to hit his wife, singer Sarah Evans, with a vehicle.

Prison records, full name Harry Jerome Barker, show that his first reservation was at 4:10 am.

Reports say Barker was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He got out of jail just before 7:30pm. After sending $10,000 bonds.

He had to wait 12 hours because the fee was domestic in nature and domestic rates require a minimum "cool down" period of 12 hours.

Court documents from the Metropolitan Nashville and Davidson County Criminal Courts Clerk said Barker attempted to crush two men who were leaving a party around 1:30 a.m. Saturday.

As he entered the driveway of a nearby house, Barker "tried to hit them at high speed but missed," according to the arrest statement.

In the statement, it was stated that after Barker left the house, the people in the vehicle applied to the police. The police then caught Barker as he passed by the house.

The affidavit stated that Barker and the victim were married, but separated and are now living separately. The report cites probable cause to believe that Barker illegally tried to hit the victim with a vehicle.

After being drafted in the fifth round of the NFL draft, Barker never appeared in the league before playing professionally in Canada before ending his career with the XFL's Birmingham Thunderbolts.

He switched to radio in Birmingham and hosted Opening Drive with Del Greco and Tony Curre until February 2018.

Since then, he has hosted The Jay Barker Show with Tide 100.9-FM as the presenter. The show features writer Lars Anderson and former Obama teammate Antonio Langham.

Barker's son, Braxton Barker, has been the weekly quarterback for the Crimson Tide since 2018 before breaking into trading port this week.

Former University of Alabama quarterback Jay Barker is on probation in Tennessee for reckless endangerment in an incident involving his estranged wife, country singer Sarah Evans, in January.

According to Metro Nashville Police Department public information officer Chris Mumford, he pleaded guilty Thursday to reckless endangerment without weapons.

Mumford said Barker, 49, of Hoover, was held under supervised probation for 11 months and 29 days. According to court records, a probation hearing will be held on May 11, 2023.
